Josh Linsky is a multi-instrumentalist and producer from Boston currently based in Los Angeles. He majored in Drum Set Performance at Berklee College of Music where he earned his Bachelor of Music degree. As music director and drum set player of the hip hop group The Urban Nerdz, Linsky received "Hip Hop Act of the Year" honors from the New England Music Awards and the New England Urban Music Awards. The group was also featured at Boston's Outside The Box Music Festival.
Josh moved to Los Angeles to attend The Herb Alpert School of Music at California Institute of the Arts where he earned his Master of Fine Arts degree in jazz studies. Linsky has produced seven recording projects including two solo albums and has toured California, the Pacific Northwest, and Canada with all kinds of musicians performing a variety of genres. As music director for the funk group International Connection, he curated a live recording and video series at Bedrock.LA studios. Following the video's publication, the group toured California leading up to their debut album release event at The Troubadour. International Connection was also showcased at the Echo Park Rising music festival.
Since the release of his most recent recording project "track-a-week", Josh continues to perform in Los Angeles and produce music for a variety of artists. He is currently writing and recording his third solo album "Family Tree" anticipated to release in 2020.
Josh has experience teaching all ages and skill levels in many capacities from group classes and ensembles to private instruction. While holding a music instructor position at Keyboard Galleria Music Center, he has also provided classroom instruction at California Institute of the Arts, Pomona College, California State Summer School for the Arts, and San Marino Music Center.
